This page explains, in plain language, what information Grow Bench collects when you visit hydroponicsystem.com, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version

  • You can read every guide without giving us your name or email.
  • We don’t run analytics or tracking cookies at launch. We use Google Search Console, which reports search traffic in aggregate and sets no cookies on your browser. If we add an analytics tool, we’ll name it here first.
  • Some links go to Amazon or other retailers. If you click one, that retailer sets its own cookies and handles your purchase under its own privacy policy.
  • If we launch an email list later, you’ll only get email if you sign up, and every email will have an unsubscribe link.
  • We don’t sell your personal information.

What we collect

Automatically, when you visit

  • Standard server and security logs: IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page, and the time. Our host and caching/security tools use these to keep the site running and block abuse.
  • If we add analytics later: pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), device type, and how you arrived (search, link, direct). We’ll update this page before turning it on.

Only if you give it to us

  • Your email address, if you sign up for email (not offered yet; see below).
  • Whatever you include if you message us through our contact form.

We don’t ask for payment details. Grow Bench doesn’t sell products directly.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files your browser stores. Grow Bench may use:

  • Essential cookies our site software sets (for example, caching or security). The site needs these to work properly.
  • Analytics cookies: none at launch. If we add analytics, we’ll name the tool here before it goes live.
  • Retailer and affiliate cookies. When you click a link to Amazon or another retailer, that site may set cookies that record that you came from Grow Bench, so we can be credited for a qualifying purchase. We don’t control those cookies. See the retailer’s privacy policy (for Amazon: amazon.com’s Privacy Notice).

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The guides will still work. Affiliate credit and some analytics just won’t be recorded.

We don’t run third-party ad networks or retargeting pixels at launch. If that changes, we’ll update this page first.

Amazon Associates

Grow Bench is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, Grow Bench earns from qualifying purchases.

Amazon and other third parties may serve content or advertisements, provide services, and place or recognize cookies on your browser, and may use web beacons or similar technologies to collect information when you click through from this site. Their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies.

Email signup (not offered yet)

We may later offer a free “Starter Hydro Grow Guide” and occasional tip emails. If we do:

  • You’ll only be added if you enter your email and confirm you want it.
  • We use your email only to send what you signed up for and the occasional related guide or product note.
  • Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we’ll honor it promptly.
  • We’ll store your email with our email service provider. We’ll name that provider here when signup goes live. We won’t sell or rent your email address.

How we use information

  • To run, secure, and fix the site.
  • To understand which guides are useful and improve them.
  • To send email you asked for, if we offer signup.
  • To answer messages you send us.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Sharing

We share information only:

  • With service providers that run the site for us (hosting, caching/security, analytics, and later email), only as needed to provide their service.
  • When a retailer’s own cookies record a click (see above).
  • If the law requires it, or to protect the site and its users from fraud or abuse.

We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your choices and rights

  • Block cookies in your browser.
  • Unsubscribe from any email using the link in it.
  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it: our contact form. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Utah, or other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have additional rights. We’ll respond as those laws require.

Children

Grow Bench is a general-audience gardening site, not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child gave us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Data retention and security

We keep server logs (and analytics, if added) only as long as needed for the purposes above. We keep email signups until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We use reasonable safeguards (HTTPS, updated software, access controls), but no website is perfectly secure.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
